Rachel Budd

Rachel Budd (Thomson) currently serves as Group Corporate Tax Manager at WHSmith since November 2025. Prior to this role, Rachel held various positions at Gamma as Tax Manager from May 2023 to October 2025, and at Nationwide Building Society from September 2005 to May 2023, where roles included Senior Manager Compliance Advice, Senior Manager Stress Testing Controls, and Tax Manager. Rachel's experience encompasses representing Nationwide in key discussions with the BBA, HMT, and HMRC, advising on tax implications of transactions, and ensuring compliance across various tax returns and processes. Rachel holds a BA (Hons) in History and Mathematics from Prifysgol Aberystwyth University and has completed A Levels and GCSEs with strong results.
