Mark Thomann is a highly experienced professional in landscape architecture and design, currently serving as the Director at WHY Architecture since May 2014. Thomann held academic positions as Faculty in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania from 2011 to December 2019 and as Faculty of Architecture at Yale University in 2010-2011. Other notable roles include serving as a Fellow at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at Columbia University from 2015 to 2017, and as an Assistant Adjunct at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation from 2012 to 2015. Prior to these roles, Thomann was the Landscape Director at WORKac from July 2012 to May 2014, and Design Director at Balmori Associates from September 2001 to May 2014.
