Ted Torphy is an accomplished pharmaceutical R&D executive with over 35 years of experience in product discovery and early development, organizational leadership, and transformational R&D business models. They served as the Global Head of External Innovation & Business Models at Janssen Pharmaceuticals from 2003 to 2012, where they built a portfolio of external R&D collaborations. Currently, Ted is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and holds various positions on scientific advisory boards, including Ultimate Medicine and the Empire Discovery Institute. They also contribute to community-focused initiatives as a member of the WHYY Board of Advisors. Ted earned a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
