Sonia Astill

Sonia joined the Wickes Group as Chief People Officer in February 2019 having previously been an HR Director within the Travis Perkins Group. Prior to that she held a number of senior HR roles in Kingfisher and Home Retail Group over an 18 year period, latterly as HR & OD director of Argos leading the people and organisation aspects of the digital transformation. She has also worked in the IT and manufacturing sectors, starting her career as an Industrial Engineer with Courtaulds Chemicals before making the move into HR before she joined IBM.

Sonia is passionate about making Wickes a more inclusive and diverse place to work. She oversees the leader led, grassroots fed ‘Making Wickes Inclusive Programme’ and is Executive Sponsor of the Wickes ‘Wellbeing’ network which aims to support the financial, mental & physical wellbeing of colleagues and create a supportive and caring environment for all.
