Michael Bate

Michael Bate has extensive experience in business development and cybersecurity, with a focus on the telecommunications industry. Michael is currently working as a Sr. Business Development Consultant at Widelity, Inc., where they lead cybersecurity and private mobile network market development strategies. Prior to this, they served as a Sr. Principal at MITRE Engenuity, where they worked on the Cyber & 5G Telecom Portfolio from 2020 to 2021.

Before joining MITRE Engenuity, Michael held the position of Director of Business Development at Neustar, Inc., where they focused on security services. From 2014 to 2018, they worked at VERISIGN as the Director of Business Development for Security Services, where they played a key role in protecting revenue and brand through securing online presence.

In 2005, Michael co-founded SIM Wireless, LLC, a mobile virtual network operator. Michael secured agreements with network operators, equity investors, and channel partners, and developed micro-segmentation strategies to enhance the company's business case in the prepaid market. Michael also provided strategic direction for the start-up.

Michael has also worked in various leadership roles, including Vice President of Global Business Development at Digital Global Systems, where they led new business development efforts in the wireless spectrum monitoring industry. Michael was responsible for building go-to-market plans, strategy, and establishing executive-level relationships with major companies such as AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Microsoft.

Michael secured a $55M IT Training Contract with the U.S. government and managed a department of Enterprise Account Managers and Solicitation Writers.

Earlier in their career, Michael held positions such as Director of Business Development at WorldCell, Inc., where they managed carrier relations and strategic alliances, and Manager of Business Development at Globalstar, where they oversaw voice and data tariffs and promotions.

Michael'scareer in the telecommunications industry began at Sprint, where they worked in carrier relations from 1996 to 1999. Overall, Michael Bate's work experience demonstrates a strong background in business development, cybersecurity, and telecommunications.

Michael Bate has an MBA in International Business & Finance from American University - Kogod School of Business. Michael also holds a BS in Political Science & World History from Santa Clara University. Prior to their higher education, Michael attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory.
