Nicolò G. has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries and roles.

Nicolò started their career as a journalist for Thomson Reuters in 2006, reporting on the conflict in Somalia. During this time, they covered significant events such as the 2007 Kenya elections and subsequent crisis. Nicolò continued to work as a freelance correspondent for Reuters, gaining in-depth knowledge of East Africa's social, political, and economic dynamics.

In 2011, Nicolò joined Kubatana Trust, a civil society network in Zimbabwe, as an Impact & Innovation Lead. Nicolò utilized open-source mobile technology to connect grassroots communities with organizations and conducted multimedia advocacy campaigns.

In 2015, they joined the UNDP as a Senior Communications Specialist. In this role, they played a crucial part in rebranding and relaunching UNDP's role as a global coordinator and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals. Nicolò led high-profile campaigns focusing on empowering women, reducing child mortality, and improving access to education in Africa and Asia. Nicolò also contributed to organizing the COP21 climate conference, UNDP's 50th anniversary, and the World Humanitarian Summit.

Nicolò then worked as the Operations Manager for the Green FabLab at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) from 2018 to 2019. Here, they managed a diverse team and oversaw projects that combined digital innovation with ecological thinking, such as 3D printing for ecological construction and advanced robotics for circular economy.

Their most recent role is as the Marketing & Partnerships Lead at Wikifactory since 2020. Nicolò engages with new industries, expands community engagement, and assists in onboarding creators and projects focused on areas like COVID-19 viral response, last-mile transport, drones, and agri-tech. Nicolò also leads the team for OpenNext, an EU-funded initiative that promotes the development of new products based on open-source principles.

Nicolò G. began their education in 2004 at SOAS University of London, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in African Studies. Nicolò completed their undergraduate studies in 2008. In 2008, Nicolò went on to attend the University of Oxford, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Political Science and Government. Their studies at Oxford concluded in 2009. Most recently, in 2017-2018, Nicolò attended the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, where they specialized in Industrial and Product Design through the Fab Academy program.
