Ellen Pikitch is an accomplished marine conservation scientist with extensive experience and leadership in the field. Currently serving as a member of the International Advisory Board for WildAid and as the Executive Director of the Institute for Ocean Conservation Science, Ellen has held significant academic positions, including Endowed Professor of Ocean Conservation Science at Stony Brook University since 2008. Ellen's prior roles include serving on the Board of Directors for FishWise and as a Pew Fellow in Marine Conservation, with contributions as a fellow from 2000 to 2003 and as an adviser from 2008 to 2012. Ellen also has experience in academia as a professor at the University of Miami and as the founder and director of the Marine Conservation Program at the Wildlife Conservation Society. Ellen earned a PhD in Zoology from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from The City College of New York.
