Senior Art Director at WildCard Games

Ryan Johnson has a diverse work experience in the gaming and technology industry. Ryan began their career at Surreal Software as a Junior Artist, where they worked on modeling and texturing various items and props. Ryan then joined Antartica LLC as a 3D Artist, developing assets for an MMORPG and creating concepts for characters and environments.

In 2003, Ryan worked at G12 Interactive as an Artist, designing website layouts and prototyping a social-gaming chat program interface. Ryan then moved on to Griptonite Games as an Environment Artist, where they modeled and textured environments for multiple platforms, focusing on lighting and creating realistic textures.

Ryan joined Glu Mobile in 2011 as an Environment Artist, using Unity3d to develop levels and concepting environments for various projects. Ryan later joined Microsoft as a Concept Artist, working on high-level application concepts for the Hololens and creating characters and props for Project Spark.

At Big Fish Games, Ryan served as a Senior Illustrator, leading the visual style of projects and providing artistic guidance to the illustration team. Ryan also worked on animations and video production projects.

Ryan's experience at Tilting Point included roles as an Art Lead and Art Director. Ryan supervised artists and collaborated with partnered studios on the visual look of games, including UI/UX, animations, and marketing materials. Ryan also played a key role in assembling a creative team and driving the creation of ASO and A/B testing.

Currently, Ryan is working at WildCard Games as a Senior Art Director.

Ryan Johnson attended The Art Institutes from 2001 to 2003, where they pursued their Associates of Applied Arts degree in Animation.
