Wilderness On Wheels is a nonprofit organization that is breaking down barriers and creating inclusion in the outdoor space. Join us! We rely on volunteers and donations to keep our mission alive.

Our mountain facility in Grant, Colorado is located off of highway 285 between Bailey and Fairplay. There are two wheelchair accessible boardwalks for hiking. Along the mountain and creekside boardwalks, there are plenty of picnic spots and places to stop for a rest. The facility is open for day trips and overnight stays. Lodging includes accessible cabins, campsites, and huts. The creekside boardwalk connects to a fishing dock and a private pond that is stocked with rainbow trout.

When you donate to and volunteer with Wilderness On Wheels, you are directly supporting equal access to nature. Wilderness On Wheels partners with other local organizations that support individuals with disabilities as well as senior citizens. Groups of people (children and adults) with disabilities and seniors come to Wilderness On Wheels for day trips and overnight stays. They are able to immerse themselves in a truly accessible nature experience and enjoy the benefits of the great outdoors in a place that is accessible and welcoming. There is where your donation goes, and this is why we invite you to support Wilderness On Wheels both via monetary donations and also volunteer opportunities.
