Kevin Purcell

Chief Data Scientist at WildFig

As WildFig’s chief scientist, Dr. Kevin Purcell brings over a decade of experience in quantitative analysis, research design and execution. Kevin has an M.S. and Ph.D. in life sciences and has managed a research program focused on quantifying the effect of disturbance on complex systems. Kevin’s research involves a wide array of computational and statistical approaches, including data mining and informatics, machine and statistical learning, and forecast modeling. Kevin has published peer-reviewed papers and white papers on various data-driven research disciplines and has been invited to present his research at national and international conferences.

In addition to his research experience, Kevin has spent years teaching quantitative and research methods to students and non-practitioners. He is currently an adjunct faculty member in the analytics department at Harrisburg University and has developed a number of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Kevin currently heads up WildFig’s first research and experiential learning laboratory, with a mission to develop novel analytical approaches with commercial application, and cultivate a new generation of data scientists. This blend of quantitative, computational and educational expertise allows WildFig to offer a unique set of capabilities in the growing analytics space.
