Kyle Kurz has over 10 years of professional experience in the software engineering and development field. In 2021, they took on the role of Vice President of Engineering at Wildfire Systems, Inc. and also serves as a DevOps Engineer. In 2015, they became the Founder of Double-K Audio. From 2010 to 2015, they held various roles at Digium, Sangoma, and Ohio University. At Digium, they were the Associate Director of Software Engineering - Mobile Clients, where they were a software engineer and manager for new client development and integration in the Switchvox group. At Sangoma, they were the Director of Mobile Unified Communication. At Ohio University, they were a Research Assistant, where they were the project lead for the Open Motif project and a project member for the WordSeeker project. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Software Developer at The Ohio State University, where they were a bioinformatics intern in the Arabidopsis thaliana research lab. Lastly, from 2008 to 2009, they were a Middleware Developer and QA Engineer at the Ohio Supercomputer Center, where they implemented the WordSeeker codebase in OSC's high-performance environment.
Kyle Kurz completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering Track from Ohio University in 2007. Kyle then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Computer Science from Ohio University, which they completed in 2010.
