Taeryn Kim has worked in the field of cell biology for over 18 years. From 2002 to 2007, they worked as a Laboratory Assistant and Research Associate I at the Gladstone Institutes, where they differentiated mouse embryonic stem cells into cardiomyocytes to characterize novel genes involved in heart-rhythm control. From 2007 to 2018, they worked at The Rockefeller University as a Research Technician I and II, studying the molecular mechanism of sensory hair cell regeneration in the larval zebrafish lateral line. Since 2018, they have been working at Wildtype, where they have held the roles of Senior Research Associate, Associate Scientist, Scientist and Cell Biology Co-Lead, and Senior Scientist and Cell Biology Co-Lead. In their current role, they have expanded the Cell Biology program beyond isolation of specialized cells to driving down cost of media while improving cell expansion. Taeryn has also built the Cell Line Exploration and Establishment team.
Taeryn Kim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Taeryn'story of Art from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002.
