Ted O'Neill

Ted O'Neill is an experienced associate scientist specializing in media optimization at Wildtype since August 2023. Co-founder and executive member of The Davis Alt Protein Project, Ted served as the organization's first president from January 2020 to June 2021 and as co-vice president until June 2023. At the University of California, Davis, Ted was a graduate student researcher from September 2018 to December 2023, mentored by Professors David Block and Keith Baar, focusing on cultivated meat research. Ted also worked as a graduate teaching assistant for the Principles of Food Science course and held various positions, including research assistant at the University of Connecticut Health Center and undergraduate research assistant at the University of Connecticut. Ted holds a PhD in Food Science and Technology from UC Davis and dual bachelor's degrees in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology and Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Connecticut.
