Barbara Bird

Barbara Bird is a Professor Emerita in Management and an Emerita Research Scholar at the American University Center for Innovation, having retired from teaching organizational behavior while continuing research on Latino and habitual entrepreneurs. With extensive experience in academia, Barbara served as a Senior Editor for Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice since January 1987 and was the Chair of the Management Department at American University from September 2012 to September 2017. Barbara's previous positions include Professor of Management at American University from September 1991 to September 2017, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at Case Western Reserve University from September 1983 to June 1991, and Visiting Professor at UCLA in 1990-1991. Barbara has held multiple leadership roles within the Academy of Management and earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Southern California, as well as an MA in Social Psychology from Western University and a BA in Psychology from California State University, Fresno.
