James (Kayliang) Ong serves as the Founder and Managing Director of the Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII) since January 2017, advocating for Sustainable AI that balances economic needs with ethical governance. Currently engaged in multiple roles, James is a co-author of the book "AI for Humanity: Building a Sustainable AI for the Future," an appointed member of the Strategic Resource Allocation Committee at the National Supercomputing Centre in Singapore, and an adjunct professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, focusing on AI leadership development. Additional contributions include serving as the International Strategy Advisor for the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, co-chairing the programming for the 2024 IEEE Conference on Artificial Intelligence, and leading initiatives at the Singapore University of Social Sciences and the Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore. James holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, a Master’s in Computer Science, and a Bachelor's degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin.
