Melissa van Gool is a driven and clinically oriented immunologist currently training as a Medical Immunologist at Sanquin. They are involved in patient care and the interpretation of complex immune profiles while pursuing research in immunological mechanisms related to Lyme disease as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Amsterdam UMC. Previously, Melissa completed a PhD in Immunology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and held various internships, focusing on autoimmunity, cancer vaccines, and neurological disorders. As an active board member of the young immunologist networks in the Netherlands and Europe, Melissa contributes to the support and training of early career researchers in the field.
