Johanna Strohschein

Johanna Strohschein currently serves as the Energy and Conservation Specialist for Will County Executive, overseeing the county's emission reduction, energy, waste, and water conservation programs. Responsibilities include managing projects, tracking utility data using Energy Star Portfolio Manager, identifying grant opportunities, and implementing approved projects. Previous experience includes a role as a Climate and Sustainability Intern at American Farmland Trust, where Johanna conducted research on sustainability performance metrics and EPA grants. As Communications Project Lead for the Sustainability Committee at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Johanna played a key role in distributing a $1.5 million budget for campus sustainability initiatives and evaluating project feasibility. Johanna also worked as an intern for Kane County, creating a database of sustainability actions in local school districts and contributing to various environmental projects. Johanna holds a degree in Earth, Society, and Environmental Sustainability from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
