The Women in Nuclear Security Group of Expertise is part of the Women in Nuclear Security Initiative (WiNSI), an initiative of #WiNGlobal dedicated to advancing gender equality, leadership, and professional development across the field of nuclear security.

Nuclear security is an interdisciplinary field that includes the protection of nuclear and radioactive materials, facilities, transport, digital systems, and people. It requires strong technical expertise, operational readiness, policy understanding, and international cooperation.

This group connects professionals from industry, government, academia, international organizations, and technical communities to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development.

Women are playing an increasingly important role across nuclear security—from cybersecurity and advanced technologies to transport security, incident response, regulation, and policy. The group aims to strengthen their visibility, leadership, and participation across these areas.

We encourage women working or interested in nuclear security and related fields to join the network, connect with peers, share expertise, and contribute to shaping the future of nuclear security worldwide.
