Karel Staa

Karel Staa serves as a community facilitator and program supporter at Windesheim since July 2022, working on long-term programs such as Taal in de Stad and Urban Innovation. Previously, Karel held the position of visual arts teacher at International School Hilversum from January 2020 to December 2020, and worked as a docent at ALASCA between January 2021 and June 2022, where responsibilities included teaching various art subjects, mentoring students, and participating in educational committees. Karel's professional journey also includes a decade of experience in photography and art, with roles as a photographer, educator, and art agent at Karel Staa Fotografie from 2009 to 2020, as well as experience in multimedia project support and secretarial roles at Pon Equipment, Amsterdam University Press, and other organizations. Karel's academic background includes degrees in visual arts education and photography from ArtEZ University of the Arts and Hogeschool van Beeldende Kunsten, alongside a bachelor’s in journalism from Windesheim.
