Kent Smith

Kent Smith is currently the Director and Senior Counsel for Labor Relations at Uniti, where they manage a labor relations team focused on labor, HR, and employment matters. Previously, Kent served as In House Counsel for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 2013 to 2018, representing the agency on employee, labor, and health care issues. They were also an Attorney at Barber, McCaskill, Jones and Hale, P.A. from 2007 to 2013, and a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney - Division Chief at the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney's Office from 1997 to 2007, where they tried over 125 jury trials. In addition to their legal practice, Kent has held the role of Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's William H. Bowen School of Law from 2015 to 2018. Kent is pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and has a background in Political Science and Communications from Ouachita Baptist University.
