Martin Gomez

Martin Gomez has extensive work experience in the aviation and technology industry. Martin is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Wing since September 2023. Prior to this, Martin worked as a Senior Chief Engineer at Aurora Flight Sciences (A Boeing Company) from April 2019 to August 2023. Martin also held the position of Vice President of Autonomy for Defense/General Manager for California Operations at Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation from August 2018 to April 2019. Martin has also worked as the Director of Platforms at SkyRyse from March 2018 to August 2018. Prior to that, they had a significant tenure at Facebook, where they served as the Director of Aeronautical Platforms from June 2015 to March 2018. Martin's earlier experience includes roles such as Chief Engineer and Program Manager at Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation from 2009 to 2015. Martin also served as the Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer for VTOL UAV and Solar Powered UAV at Aurora Flight Sciences Corp. from 2004 to 2009. Martin started their career at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab as a Sr. Professional Staff from April 2000 to December 2003. Before that, they held the position of Director of Engineering at Aurora Flight Sciences Corp. from May 1991 to March 2000. Martin began their career as a Sr. Software Engineer at Syltel Systems from October 1990 to April 1991.

Martin Gomez obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University from 1979 to 1983. Martin then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering at Cornell University from 1982 to 1983. Later, they earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from The Johns Hopkins University from 2000 to 2002. In addition, Martin Gomez holds a Full IB Diploma from the United Nations International School. Martin also has certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration as a Commercial Pilot, in areas such as Single- and Multiengine Airplane, Instrument Airplane, and Glider.
