Matteo Nicolini has a wealth of experience in the field of software engineering, specifically in the development of control software for marine ship engines. Matteo started their career at Alstom Transport in 1995, where they worked as a Safety System/Software Engineer, responsible for developing and documenting software products for safety critical real-time systems. Matteo then joined Pi Shurlok in 2001 as a Team Leader - Senior System/Software Engineer, where they worked on various projects related to embedded real-time control firmware for hybrid electric vehicles and powertrains. During their time at Pi Shurlok, they also served as a team leader for a group of engineers and conducted internal audits. In 2009, Matteo joined Wärtsilä as an Expert Senior Engineer at Automation & Control, where they continued their work on control software for marine ship engines. Matteo specialized in the integration and delivery of MATLAB auto-generated control software and managed the software product acquisition life cycle. Matteo also served as a Scrum Master, responsible for overseeing the Agile software development process. In 2015, Matteo joined WinGD – Winterthur Gas & Diesel as the Team Leader of Application Software Development at Automation & Control - R&D. In this role, they led a team in the development of application software for ship engines, focusing on integration and delivery. Matteo Nicolini completed their primary education at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 1986 to 1993. During this time, they pursued a degree in Electronic Engineering and achieved a remarkable score of 100/100 cum laude. In 1990, they participated in a one-year university exchange program at UC San Diego, where they focused on Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
