Sandeep Dhanik's work experience begins in 2002 as an intern at Bharat Gears Ltd, where they analyzed and corrected gear distortion and assisted with gear machining and process planning. In 2004, they worked as a Graduate Engineer at MAHLE-Purolator India Limited, focusing on testing, validation, and development of test rigs for fuel filters. From 2005 to 2009, they served as a Doctoral Assistant and Project Lead at EPFL, managing and developing industrial projects on resource efficiency in manufacturing. Sandeep also worked as a Teaching Assistant for a Design for Manufacturing for Assembly (DFMA) course. In 2012, Sandeep joined GF Agie Charmilles as a Research Engineer, specializing in design of experiments and statistical analysis of wire EDM machining processes. Sandeep then moved on to Alstom Power, where they worked as a Senior Process Engineer, focusing on automation development, KPI analysis, and commissioning of advanced 3D tool management systems. In 2015, they joined GE Power as a Project Leader in Advanced Manufacturing, leading manufacturing cost reduction and technology rollout projects and developing manufacturing processes for NPI projects. Currently, Sandeep is employed as a Cost & Value Engineering Manager at WinGD-Winterthur Gas & Diesel.

Sandeep Dhanik obtained a Dual Degree-Bachelor and Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where the field of study is unspecified. Sandeep pursued further education at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Manufacturing Systems and Robotics from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained several certifications, including Telc Deutsch B1 from telc GmbH - The European Language Certificates in December 2019, Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in September 2018, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the International Association for Six Sigma Certification in September 2012.
