Bob Denaro

Board Member at WingDriver

Bob Denaro is a board member at WingDriver and was previously a senior vice president at Rand McNally and a vice president at Motorola. Bob has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and automotive industries.

Bob started their career at Motorola in 1993 as a vice president in the Telematics division. Bob was responsible for developing the world’s first emergency calling solution, Ford Rescu, which was rapidly followed by Mercedes TeleAid and GM OnStar. The integration of cellular, GPS and integrated circuit technologies required a new approach to collaboration of disparate, siloed sectors within Motorola. Bob developed a product and market strategy that was unbeatable and won virtually every automaker implementing emergency call in the face of mounting competition. Bob won several industry product awards and rapidly scaled up integrated high-performance, highly motivated development and marketing teams in Chicago, Scottsdale, the U.K. and Germany.

In 2000, Bob left Motorola to join Rand McNally as a senior vice president in charge of the Global Business Solutions division. Bob ran the B2B side of business comprising four diverse businesses as well as corporate R&D. Bob introduced innovative electronics technology and products to Rand McNally's classic portfolio of paper map products. Bob had major success in the seminal days of digital electronic mapping products with Palm and Sony, winning industry product awards. Bob was instrumental in keeping the company profitable through the dotcom bust and the tragic 911 terrorist attack.

Bob has been a board member at WingDriver since June 2002.

Bob Denaro has a B.S. in Astronautics from the United States Air Force Academy, an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Guidance and Control from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology.
