Robert Smith

Robert Smith is currently a trustee at WINSTON PREPARATORY SCHOOL. Robert was previously employed at Passport Emerging Markets LLC, Greenhill & Co., and Citigroup Global Capital Markets Inc.

Smith began their career at Citigroup in 2001 as a managing director in the financial institutions M&A group. In this role, they worked on some of the largest secondary purchases of private equity interests ever completed. Robert then moved to Greenhill & Co. in 2006, where they served as managing director and co-head of financial institutions M&A. During their time at Greenhill, Smith advised on the sale of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange to NASDAQ for $652mm.

Most recently, Smith was employed at Passport Emerging Markets LLC as a senior advisor. In this role, they provided advice on a variety of transactions, including the TT International in its sale to Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and the London Stock Exchange Group in its $2.8bn acquisition of the Frank Russell Company.

Robert Smith has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and BS in Economics from the Wharton School. Robert is also a Certified Investment Fund Director from the Certified Investment Fund Director Institute.
