Bassem Awad

Bassem Awad is an Assistant Professor and Director of the IPIT Area of Concentration at the Faculty of Law, University of Western Ontario. They have held various academic positions, including Adjunct Professor at the Regional Center of Intellectual Property and Alexandria University, and have served as a Senior Public Prosecutor at the Egyptian Ministry of Justice. Currently, Bassem is an External Consultant for the African Union and a Professor at the United Nations WIPO Academy, focusing on capacity building in intellectual property law. They hold multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Intellectual Property Rights from the University of Montpellier.
