Gretchen McCulloch is a prominent linguist and writer recognized for extensive contributions to the field of linguistics and internet language. Currently serving as a Resident Linguist and Ideas columnist at WIRED since October 2018, Gretchen also co-hosts the podcast Lingthusiasm, focusing on engaging discussions about linguistics, alongside Lauren Gawne. As the author of the New York Times bestselling book "Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language," published in July 2019, Gretchen has solidified a significant presence in contemporary linguistic discourse.
