Jouni Mikkonen

Jouni Mikkonen has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Jouni has held various leadership roles in companies such as Wirepas, Link Motion, Jolla, and Nokia Mobile Phones.

At Wirepas, they served as the VP, Head of Product and RD, where they focused on developing the Wirepas Mesh wireless connectivity software for IoT solutions.

As the Managing Director of Link Motion, a start-up company, their responsibilities included developing an automotive in-vehicle computer platform with flexible user interface and high security features.

During their time at Jolla, another start-up company, Jouni worked as the VP Program Management and was responsible for product definition and delivery, particularly for the Sailfish OS 2.

At Nokia Mobile Phones, Jouni held several roles, including Head of Product Engineering, Product Forward Center, where they worked on developing and productizing new innovations for the Nokia Lumia smartphone portfolio. Jouni also served as the Head of Symbian Technology, overseeing the development of the Symbian software and hardware platforms.

Earlier in their career, Jouni worked as the General Manager of Nokia Wireless Business Communications, where they led a 70-person team and played a key role in the acquisition of InTalk company. Jouni also worked as a Technology Manager at Nokia Mobile Phones, where they contributed to the Magic WAND project, a wireless ATM network demonstrator.

Jouni Mikkonen attended Tampere University of Technology from 1993 to 1999, where they obtained a PhD degree in Telecommunications.
