German Sibay

German Sibay is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and engineering management. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Wise since July 2016, German oversees operations for Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, focusing on expanding the company's presence in these regions. Prior roles include Senior Engineering Manager and Software Engineering Manager, where responsibilities included coaching engineering teams, project management, and partnerships with local regulators and financial institutions. German's career began with positions at Hexacta, followed by significant academic roles at Imperial College London and Universidad de Buenos Aires, culminating in a PhD in Computer Science from Imperial College London.
