John McGarvey

John McGarvey is an experienced content design leader currently serving as the Group Content Design Lead at Wise since November 2023. Prior to this role, John held several positions at Meta, including Senior Content Design Manager, where leadership of a team focused on commerce products for advertisers was key, and Content Design Manager, responsible for Audience Network. John began the professional journey as a Content Designer at Facebook, contributing to the enhancement of app monetization products. Between 2008 and 2015, John operated John McGarvey Ltd as a web copywriter and content strategist, collaborating with diverse clients like Intuit and Auto Trader. Earlier positions include working as a copywriter for various companies, such as 123-reg.co.uk and O2, and as a web editor at Microsoft. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Reading and has completed A-Levels and GCSEs at The Sandon School.
