Phil Thomas

Phil Thomas currently serves as the Director of Finance & Treasury Control and Head of Treasury Risk and Control at Wise since June 2023. Prior to this, Phil spent a year as a homemaker, focusing on family responsibilities while engaging in data and analytics studies, including completing Professional Certificates in IBM Data Science. His extensive background in finance includes significant roles at UBS from September 2016 to July 2022, where Phil held positions such as Executive Director for Group Treasury Finance and Financial Controller for the Fixed Income Trading desk. Phil's earlier experience at Morgan Stanley from September 2005 to September 2016 encompassed roles as Financial Controller for Interest Rates and Vice President in Finance Risk & Control. Phil earned a Master of Science in Physics from Imperial College London and holds professional qualifications as a Chartered Management Accountant and a diploma in Financial Derivatives.
