Rain Vagel

Rain Vagel is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in financial crime prevention and machine learning. Currently serving as Data Science Lead at Wise since June 2019, Rain has contributed to the Anti-Money Laundering team by developing controls and machine learning models to combat risks such as money laundering and terrorism financing. Prior roles at Wise include Senior Data Scientist and Junior Data Scientist, where Rain employed various technologies like H2O and AWS. Rain's background also includes an internship at Estetno OÜ, founding a venture at the University of Tartu, and teaching object-oriented programming. With a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tartu and a Deep Reinforcement Learning Nanodegree from Udacity, Rain demonstrates a strong foundation in both academic and practical applications of data science.
