Leonardo Cordero has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Leonardo started their career at American Express in 1991 and worked there until 1996. Leonardo then joined AXA from 1998 to 2000 and Merrill Lynch from 2002 to 2006. In 2005, they co-founded and became a principal partner at Cornerstone Merchant Advisors / Cenpos until 2012.
In 2007, Leonardo became the Chief Executive Officer of wiSource, an innovation think tank focused on payment transactions and artificial intelligence agents. Leonardo remains in this role till present.
Leonardo also held roles as a facilitator and research partner at The Payments Lab starting in 2011, and as the co-chairman of the Emeritus Council since 2018.
In 2019, they took on the position of Chief Strategy Advisor at Liquid Carrot, where they provided guidance on the NeuroEvolution of Augmenting Topologies (NEAT) algorithm for training artificial neural networks.
Additionally, in 2019, Leonardo became the Board Chair of FIU ATOM Think Tank at Florida International University, where they oversee technology consulting services and experiential learning opportunities for students.
Leonardo Cordero attended Belen Jesuit from 1985 to 1987, but did not receive a degree or specify a field of study. Leonardo later pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance at Florida International University - College of Business starting in 2003.
