Matt Mandel has a strong background in government affairs and legislative roles. Matt is currently the Vice President of Government Affairs at WISPA since March 2023. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Wireless Infrastructure Association, including Senior Vice President of Government & Public Affairs from April 2018 to December 2022. Matt also served as the Head of Legislative Affairs from April 2015 to March 2018. Before joining Wireless Infrastructure Association, Matt was a Vice President of Government Affairs at The Glover Park Group from May 2011 to April 2015. Matt gained valuable legislative experience at the Office of Rep. Cliff Stearns, where they served as Legislative Director from June 2007 to June 2011, and Senior Legislative Assistant from February 2005 to June 2007. Additionally, they worked as a Legislative Liaison at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) from February 2003 to February 2005, and as a Legislative Assistant at the Office of Rep. Eric Cantor from January 2001 to February 2003. Matt's career in government affairs began as a Legislative Assistant at the Office of Rep. Tom Bliley from June 2000 to December 2000, and as a Deputy Political Director at Cantor for Congress from March 2000 to June 2000. Matt started their professional journey as a Staff Assistant at the House Foreign Affairs Committee from June 1999 to March 2000.
Matt Mandel received their Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland in 1999. Following this, they pursued further education and completed their Master of Arts degree in Political Science from American University in 2007.
