Kunal Gupta has a long history of entrepreneurial work in the tech and art industries. In 2020, they became Cofounder & CTO of Withfriends, a business on Shopify that makes it easy to sell subscriptions. In 2011, they cofounded 285 Kent, a nightclub-style art venue, and in 2010, they founded Babycastles, a cooperatively run movement that helped establish the cultural value of video games as an art form. In 2012, they cofounded Silent Barn, an arts collective and all-ages performance space in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Prior to this, they had been a freelance software developer since 1996.
Kunal Gupta attended Columbia University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music & Computer Science. Kunal then attended New York University from 2006 to 2008, where they earned a Master's Degree.
