Kuangwei Hwang 黃光偉 has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Kuangwei began their career as a Software Engineer at Cisco, where they developed platform-dependent code for Cisco IOS. Kuangwei also worked on the design team for the Nile ASIC chip. After leaving Cisco, Hwang founded PureConduit, Inc. and served as its Co-Founder and COO, developing PHP web applications and handling backend payment systems.

Hwang then joined BetterWorks as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for setting up major infrastructures and platforms. Kuangwei later worked at ZEFR as a Lead Engineer, leading agile teams on various engineering projects and building out a 35+ person engineering team.

In 2014, Hwang founded Vrideo and served as its Founder & CTO. Kuangwei led the development of a VR video streaming and distribution platform, attracting a global audience and building a team of engineers across multiple VR platforms.

Hwang then joined Within (VR/AR) as a Director of Engineering, where they worked for several years before the company was acquired by Meta. At Within, they played a crucial role in the company's growth and development. Following the acquisition, Hwang took on the role of Director of Engineering at Supernatural and later became the Head of Platform Engineering at Meta, where they currently lead a large team of engineers.

Outside of their technical roles, Hwang has also demonstrated leadership and organizational skills as the President of the San Francisco Bay University of Illinois Alumni Club 501(c)(3), where they planned various events and initiatives.

Kuangwei Hwang 黃光偉 completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2005. Kuangwei then pursued further education and earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same university in 2007. In addition to their academic achievements, Hwang has also obtained several certifications. These include the Part 107 Commercial Drone Operator Remote Pilot Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, which they obtained in August 2018. Kuangwei also holds an Instrument Pilot Certificate for Airplane and a Private Pilot Certificate for Airplane Single Engine Land, both obtained from the Federal Aviation Administration in August 2006 and August 2004, respectively.
