Alex Casella currently serves as the Energy Practice Lead at Shepherd since May 2025. Prior to this role, Alex worked at Chubb from August 2018 to May 2025 as an AVP - Energy Underwriting Manager, overseeing energy underwriting across the Midwest, New York, and Pacific Regions, and previously as a Senior Energy Underwriter managing a diverse portfolio of Power, Mining, and Petroleum risks. Earlier experience includes serving as Vice President of Life Science Casualty Placement at Marsh from September 2014 to August 2018, leading the life science property and casualty division for both coasts. Alex also started in the industry at La Playa Insurance, managing accounts in the Art & Entertainment sector, and has held various positions including cheesemonger and insurance producer. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and Marketing from Fordham University, completed in 2013.
