Michael Hurwitz, CPA, MST, is a seasoned tax executive with extensive experience in the real estate industry, known for in-depth expertise in partnership and REIT taxation. They served as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP from 1997 to 2005, where they significantly improved organizational effectiveness and client engagement processes. As Director of Taxation at Acadia Realty Trust from 2005 to 2009, Michael worked closely with leadership on capital market transactions and led initiatives that generated substantial tax savings. Currently, they are a Partner at Withum, a technology-driven advisory, tax, and accounting firm, continuing to demonstrate their commitment to advancing tax and accounting practices.
