WJTV, Mississippi's first and oldest broadcast television station, signed on the air January 20, 1953, with the Inauguration Ceremony of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  

As Jackson’s #1 local news station sign-on to sign-off for over 60 years, WJTV consistently delivers viewers. We dominate demos in Daytime with programming such as Y&R, Bold & Beautiful, Family Feud, and Dr. Phil, as well as our #1 in the market Midday News.  Our Sports line-up such as the Final Four, the Masters, and our Southern favorite, SEC football carry the male demos in the Jackson market, and our weekly sports show "The Sports Zone"​ is the most watched local sports program in Central Mississippi. 

In 2013, WJTV launched Mississippi's CW, expanding award-winning programming, extended reach, and new opportunities for central Mississippi advertisers. 

From the Yazoo and Clinton tornado telethons to “pack the pick-up” food drives for Mississippi Food Network to phone banks serving Mississippi River Flooding victims, WJTV has made a statement  that serving the greater Jackson community under the Caring for Mississippi banner will be a long standing initiative at this station.
