Tom Ackerman

Tom Ackerman has extensive experience in meteorology and broadcast journalism, currently serving as the Morning/Noon Meteorologist at WLEX-TV since August 2002. Prior to this role, Tom worked as a Freelance Weather Anchor at WCCB and held positions as Weather Anchor and Reporter at WJFW TV and WOLO TV. Tom's background includes military service as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate Third Class in the US Navy, where service included time on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Tom holds a Private Pilot Certificate from Kent State University, a BA in Electronic Media Production with a minor in Journalism from Ashland University, and a BS in Geoscience from Mississippi State University.
