The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is Australia's longest running elite female national competition.  Founded in 1981 the WNBL Championship is set to enter its 43rd season in 2022/23. The WNBL Championship is regarded as one of the strongest female basketball leagues in the world.

The League features eight clubs across Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Queensland.
