Chief Creative Officer, Design & Marketing at Wolf-Gordon

Marybeth Shaw has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Marybeth started their career as a Program Assistant at the Architectural League of New York in 1984 and then moved on to work as an Assistant Creative Director at Formica Group North America from 1986 to 1989. In 1992, they worked as a Freelance Copywriter at Interface.

In 1996, Marybeth worked as a Junior Architectural Designer at Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn before becoming a Creative Director at Wolf-Gordon from 1997 to 2003. Marybeth then started their own design studio, Shaw-Jelveh Design, LLC, in 2004 where they worked as Principal & Creative Director until 2011. During this time, they provided a range of design services with a strong focus on sustainability.

Marybeth was then invited back to Wolf-Gordon in 2011 to serve as the Chief Creative Officer, Design & Marketing. In this role, they played a key part in enhancing the company's brand and building new upholstery and licensed design programs. Additionally, they initiated the commercial wallcovering industry's first transparency/sustainability program.

Marybeth Shaw received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Smith College in 1984. From 1989 to 1991, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and obtained a Master's degree in City Planning. Following this, they pursued their interest in architecture at Ecole d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville, where they earned a Maitrise degree from 1991 to 1994. Finally, Marybeth completed their education by obtaining an M.B.A. with a focus on Leadership, Finance, and Global Economy from NYU Stern School of Business between 2016 and 2018.
