Sjoerd Smit

Sjoerd Smit, a Senior Technical Consultant at Wolfram since January 2016, has a robust academic and professional background in physics and engineering. Previously, Sjoerd served as a PhD student at Eindhoven University of Technology from September 2010 to February 2016, focusing on the Fundamentals and Application of Silicon Heterojunction solar cells within the Plasma and Materials Processing group. An earlier role as a Master Student involved theoretical analysis and numerical simulation of ultracold Rydberg lattices. Sjoerd also gained practical experience through internships at Philips Research, working on solid state chemical sensors, and at Koning Willem II College, teaching physics at the secondary level. Sjoerd holds a PhD in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics and a Master's degree in Applied Physics, both from Eindhoven University of Technology.
