Adrian Powell is an experienced professional in the field of semiconductor materials, currently serving as the Director of Materials Development Engineering at Wolfspeed since August 2020. In this role, Adrian focuses on transferring and scaling up bulk silicon carbide (SiC) growth processes from research and development to large-scale production. Previously, as Senior Manager of Research Sciences at Wolfspeed, responsibilities included developing production-ready 200 mm crystal growth processes. Adrian's extensive experience also includes significant positions at Cree, where advancements were made in SiC substrates for LED applications, and at Advanced Technology Materials Inc., leading the development of substrates for power devices. Adrian holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Warwick and has a strong foundation in semiconductor device physics, supported by a Master's degree from the University of Portsmouth and a Bachelor's degree from the University of York.
