Caleb A. Kent

Caleb A. Kent, PhD, currently serves as Manager of Research Science at Wolfspeed since July 2021, while also holding the position of Research Scientist IV at Cree since December 2012. At Cree, responsibilities include research and development in MOCVD growth of III/V based (GaN/InGaN) LEDs for residential and commercial lighting, with an emphasis on enhancing emission intensity, throughput, and reducing costs. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher role at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on materials for electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction and water oxidation. Caleb A. Kent completed a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the same university. Additional experience encompasses positions as a Solar Energy Consultant at Firelake Capital Management LLC and various roles at Pfizer, contributing to significant research efforts in protein synthesis and optical systems.
