Jim Oerth has a diverse work experience in the semiconductor industry. Jim started their career as the Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at GMT Microelectronics, where they were responsible for all engineering aspects of a mixed-signal wafer foundry. Jim then served as the Director of Foundry Operations at Texas Instruments. Oerth later joined Sarnoff Corporation as the Director of Operations, overseeing a silicon fab making military electronics. After that, they joined Skyworks Solutions, Inc., where they held various roles including Director of Process Engineering and Senior Director of Operations, managing GaAs pHEMT/HBT and Silicon diode wafer fabs.
Currently, Oerth is serving as the Vice President of Operations at Wolfspeed, overseeing the management of the world's first 200mm Silicon Carbide Wafer Fab. With their extensive experience, Oerth has contributed to the growth of the electric vehicle, mobile, and industrial markets with SiC power transistors.
Jim Oerth received their M.S. in Engineering Science from Penn State Great Valley in the years 1983 to 1987. Jim then pursued Business Administration and Management, General at Saint Joseph's University from 1990 to 1994.
