Robert Askin

Robert (Dusty) Askin is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in materials engineering and management. Currently serving as the Engineering Manager for Backend Operations Test at Wolfspeed since September 2022, Robert leads a team focused on testing MOSFET and Schottky devices in power and RF applications, ensuring consistency in test platforms across multiple sites. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Process Engineering at HZO, managing a multi-national team in customer-focused new product introduction efforts, and holding various engineering roles, including Technical Director and Senior Materials Engineer at HZO. Robert's earlier career includes positions as a Research Engineer at Ripple, a Research Specialist at Panasonic, and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Utah. Academic qualifications encompass a Master of Engineering in Bioengineering with a concentration in biomaterials from the University of Utah, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh, along with international academic experience at The University of Sheffield.
