Thomas Kuhr is an experienced research and development professional with a strong background in materials science. Since February 2019, Thomas has held the position of Director of Research Development at Wolfspeed, previously serving as a Development Scientist. Prior to joining Wolfspeed, Thomas worked at Cree from March 2003 to February 2019 as a Scientist/Manager, specializing in R&D for Nitride Epitaxy associated with LEDs and lasers. Thomas holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University, earned between 1998 and 2003, and a Master of Science (MS) in Materials Engineering from Virginia Tech, completed from 1991 to 1997.
