What if schools were flourishing, democratic learning communities?

Wondering School exists to build education as a practice of freedom. Founded in 2016, we explore and share humanizing education practices from around the world through films, courses, and global collaborations.

Our work bridges educational philosophy with practical implementation, helping educators and organizations recreate learning environments based on dialogue, conscientization, and active engagement with the world.

Core Services

• Sociocracy Training & Consulting: We help schools and learning communities implement sociocratic governance to distribute decision-making and amplify student voice.

• Educational Filmmaking & Resources: We produce documentaries and multimedia content designed to stimulate reflection and action in the education sector.

• Learning Facilitation: We co-create projects and facilitate workshops with schools, informal education initiatives, and community organizations worldwide.

Our Background

Our foundational research involved visiting over 40 educational projects globally. In 2018, we produced "School Circles", an internationally acclaimed documentary exploring democratic schools in the Netherlands that practice sociocracy. The insights from this film form the basis of our training programs and consulting work today.

We view education as a continuous process of learning and becoming. Whether through an introductory workshop, a full sociocracy implementation, or a documentary screening, our goal is to help you build an emancipatory educational environment.
