Work In Progress Labs is an artist-run creative studio for experimental, interdisciplinary, & critical art practices. From festivals to residencies to original commissions to space design, we collaborate w/ artists, collectives, and institutions to imagine and build new cultural futures- together. 

Since 2023, we’ve curated/produced 500+ programs, including but not limited to

4 MULTI-CITY FESTIVALS- W.I.P alt.FEST (alternative arts festival spanning from Delhi to Bangalore w/ 250+ shows across 30+ spaces & 4,000+ hrs of programming) and Little Stint I & II (capsule performance festivals). 

LIVE EXPERIMENTS- Dastaan LIVE's Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein (rock opera about Kabir's poetry), Dilli Improvisers Orchestra (India's first improv orchestra), Modulated Movements (feat. live-coded music, modular synth, Khirki village rappers & hip-hop artists), Playground (Carnatic vocals & modular synth), and countless more. 

50+ WORKSHOPS- Bhagdad Machi Hai (stop-motion animation using everyday materials), Live Coding w Strudel (creating music by writing code), WomenEwer (exploring bodies and resilience), Materials Talk to Us (transforming common materials into instruments), and more monthly workshops through our Creative Arts Exploration series.

100+ FILM SCREENINGS- films by Anamika Haksar, Gurvinder Singh, and many more. 

10+ EXHIBITIONS- KAFILA, a blog by Nivedita Menon + other political theorists, Kannugalige Kivi (urban commentary through bamboo), Storybooth (immersive light/sound "portal" into a collection of stories), Fountain by Surjit Nongmeinkapam and more. 

Our collaborations include Alliance Française, Instituto Cervantes, British Council, and cultural venues like Mool, Lilanoor, OddBird Theatre, The Pianoman, Depot 48, Kunzum Books, SACAC, Bangalore International Centre, Indian Music Experience, Jagriti Theatre, Courtyard Koota, and more.
